I tried pumping my breast milk because my son doesn’t get very much when he nurses because he goes to sleep. I do supplement him with formula. He had a 2 ounce bottle of formula and still acted hungry so i fixed him a 2 ounce bottle of breast milk and he ate about half an ounce. How long can i leave the breast milk out in the bottle since he has sucked on it?

If you haven’t heated it, it can stay at room temp up to 10 hours. If you’ve heated it, one hour. In the fridge (never heated) 8 days. Frozen in a fridge/freezer combo 3 months. Deep freezer 6+months.

Put it in the fridge. Don’t keep for more than a day.

Breast milk, at room temperature, is safe up to four hours. It can be kept in the fridge for up to three days, the freezer up to three months, and a deep freezer for up to a year.

After pumping your breast milk you can feed it to the baby right away, put it in the refrigerator or freeze it for later. Breast milk can be stored at room temperature for up to 24 hours. Breast milk that is stored in a refrigerator can last for about one week and breast milk that is frozen can last about 4 months. Breast milk can also be refrigerated in a portable container if you are pumping at the office or somewhere not near a refrigerator. But it should be transferred to a refrigerator or freezer as soon as possible.

It can sit out at room temperature for about 10 hours without going bad. If you refrigerate it, it can last for up to 8 days, and if it’s in the freezer, it can last for 3-6 months, depending on how often your freezer is left open. If the milk has already thawed, it can last for a full 24 hours in the fridge.
